EA employs a staff of certified professional coders in the San Diego Corporate office. Each coder is independently certified by the AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders) and/or AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association). Our coding service provides compliant, multi-specialty CPT, ICD-9 and HCPCS coding in accordance with CMS guidelines.

EA ensures compliance via random internal and external coding audits. Our coding team makes continuing education a priority as coding guidelines are ever changing.

Our coders review documentation by accessing individual hospital EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems across the United States. When EMR access is not available, our coders can access scanned images of medical records within the HIPAA compliant EA web based system

To ensure compliance and minimize coding disputes, EA’s contracted physicians are offered current educational updates and training through individualized in-services and daily coding feedback from their individual coder. All inquiries regarding code assignments are welcome, because we believe open communication is key to providing a satisfactory coding experience.
